Merseybeat flourished throughout 1963 and the first half of 1964. Shortly afterward, R&B-oriented bands such as the Rolling Stones, the Kinks and the Yardbirds appeared. It is fair to say that Mersybeat and it's progression revolutionised music. The story of Liverpool music doesn't end there, however, Liverpool acts continued to have an impact throughout the , and . Even today, the young girl band Atomic Kitten are continuing the trend of Liverpool's popularity in the music charts. |
